Breakfast of Champions

I have to tell you, Friday is my favorite day of the work week. You might be thinking for obvious reasons, but really it's because we have the best breakfasts ever!

When I am out on a Friday, I miss my breakfast and have to settle for my eggs and toast at home. Not today my friends.

I had myself a jalepeno cheese bagel, smothered in cream cheese, literally smothered. I showed some restraint today and only had half of the Old Fashioned Donut. Some fresh cut up pinapple. and some freshly sliced berry mixture with kiwi and peach. There is also some yogurt and granola, but I am S T U F F E D!

Come 12 or even 1, I know I won't be hungry for lunch. I will be stuffed until dinner.

Saddest of all, I forgot my book. At least I could have read during my lunch hour. I am totally bummed!! I am loving our choice this month. It's Caramelo by Sandra Cisneros. She is the same author of House on Mango Street. It's 87 chapters, but they are very small chapters. I got the book yesterday and am up to chapter 17. I know I am not as fast as a reader as some others (ahem, Miss Jovi!) but I get there. It's just hard to find time, since I have my programs to watch, and scrapbook. I have to juggle my time between my past times. Honestly most times, I sit on my throne and read. Granted I sit there till my ass is numb, but it's the only undivided attention I can give to my books! That and waiting 2 hours in doctor's offices.

I think I've narrowed down my choices for next month's pick.

  1. Love in Time of Cholera by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
  2. My Invented County by Isabel Allende
  3. The Death of Artemio Cruz by Carlos Fuentes
    or
  4. The Memory Keeper's Daughter by Kim Edwards

So I'll be back and give you my thoughts on Caramelo and why I love it so far. Also, I had the book on tape and listened to it a couple of years back. But it's a different experience to read it altogether.

And so you don't think I'm slacking on my scrapbooking, here is a layout I submitted for a "Loved One" challenge on the scrapbooking board. I've also done about 20 Christmas cards for a swap, but you can't see those cause you might be getting one!
